Whilst I do appreciate the use of the word women, men don’t have a cervix

I'm surprised the BBC actually reported on it. Why are the 'most marginalised group' of people statements never get challenged. You just have to look at the 2021 murder stats for Women and Trans people in the UK to see this is bollocks.

NecessaryScene · 27/09/2021 07:18

I sometimes think this ideology struggles in the UK because we know that these situations do regularly occur once a year in pantomime.

To see someone's claim to be of the opposite sex taken that seriously just invokes some sort of basic societal level "oh no he isn't!" response from the audience. Grin

How did Keir see this panning out?

How do we teach a child whether they have the sort of ‘body with a cervix’ without mentioning the terms women or girls?

Transgender terminology doesn’t have make a muddle of basic information.

AnyOldPrion · 27/09/2021 07:25

Regardless of the repeat of the marginalised mantra, that’s a remarkably clear article regarding Rosie Duffield’s stance, including specific mention of which spaces she feels women need specific protection. For the BBC it’s a step in the right direction.

Yes...

Cards "Congratulations on the birth of your body with a vagina/person with a cervix."

Parents "You're a boy but your sibling is a little person with a cervix."

etc.

Surprised that Starmer is parroting the "most marginalised and abused" mantra, which considering that in this country, a transwoman is statistically more likely to commit a murder than be the victim of one, is wildly inaccurate!

I would have expected Starmer to do his own thinking and plough his own furrow, not fall into line behind extreme lobbying groups.

Very disappointing. It leaves me totally bereft of any political home at all.

SpindleWorld · 27/09/2021 08:01

The story and the problems of gender ideology are certainly getting 'out there', now the top flight BBC interviewers have finally twigged which questions to ask their hapless political interviewees, and presumably told the hovering TRA-lite production assistants to get tae fuck.

Well, at least it's still all trending on Twitter

Gets more info out

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/09/2021 08:25

It’s great to see mostly sensible comments on Twitter but loads of people aren’t on it so I bet plenty of people will see this on the bbc and choke on their cornflakes this morning that Starmer has shown himself to be so bloody stupid and craven.
