None of her claims in defence of abolishing the gatekeeping and safeguarding aspects of the GRA make much sense when you remember that this is the government that has unequivocally stated that women can be male and female. (And by extension, of course, men can be male and female too, but for some unfathomable reason the Scottish Government has never made any statements about that.)
Abortion thus is no longer a women's issue according to the Scottish Government but a people issue, so why is she going on about it as if being a much more important women's issue than losing our sex-based rights? Neither are any of the other issues She claims as women's issues (proving once again that a) not even the most ardent believers believe TWAW to reflect the truth and b) you can get away with stuff that gets others labelled as transphobic if you're special.
And it's truly pathetic this mangling of language when it suits them, because when you look at big government initiatives, like the new women's health plan it is clear that they mean female people when they say women and girls.
It's not possible to take both positions and deliver coherent policy, regulations and laws. Either women are female and your statutory writing reflects this or they're male and female and your statutory writing reflects that.
If you pretend these two mutually exclusive positions are the same, you will run into trouble.
