Cervical screening error in women who've had hysterectomies

Posting in case this is of use to anyone - and also to note the use of 'women' throughout the article, in almost every paragraph. Is it jumping out at me because I'm unused to it, or are the BBC making a point?

'More women who were wrongly told they did not need cervical screening may have gone on to develop cancer.'

The most worrying thing is that it seems to have been caused by the incorrect code assigned to their procedure. Given the willingness of the Scottish Government to corrupt data by not properly collecting disaggregated sex data and to allow individuals to attach incorrect sex codes to their own records, how many tragedies will we see in the future?

Many more 334.

Thanks for posting Arabella.

It raises awareness for any of us women who in the future my undergo a hysterectomy. We'll at least have in mind to ask what type of hysterectomy we will be having.
