I have started to listen to 'gender a wider lens' podcasts and have found their debates on the sudden growth in gender dysphoria / treatments etc really interesting. As the Sonia Appleby case has now started the first 40 minutes of Episode 27 (11th June) are quite enlightening.

Notes from Episode 27: Marcus and Sue Evans both worked as clinicians in the Tavistock Centre in London for many years. Noticing red flags since the early 2000s, Sue was the first whistle-blower in the Tavistock Centre and Marcus resigned as its governor because the concerns raised by therapists, parents, and managers were systematically dismissed.

If you haven't got time to listen the 'extended notes' section (which appears in the notes underneath the podcast on their website) gives quite a lot of information.

Stella O’Malley and Sasha Ayad are good and thoughtful presenters and that podcast covers so many interesting topics.

Ep: 27 looks very helpful especially as a catch-up for anyone wondering about the background circumstances relevant to current Sonia Appleby case, thank you.

The website gives lots of helpful links.

You might want to drop this thread into the GIDS one as it's useful background to Appleby's current case.

Thanks for highlighting that episode. It's the best history of GIDS and its problems that I've come across. Most of the bits have been heard, but this brings it all together.

Marcus and Sue Evans are fantastic.

I really like this podcast. The two parter they did on GD and boys was very interesting. The script is almost identical for each of their backgrounds with a point on anime porn too.

It's a very good podcast. The presenters are analytic but they also have huge amounts of empathy for gender dysphoric youth and their issues.

Just been listening to a few of these. Lots of different themes covered and they allow their guests to speak.

Lots of 1 star reviews (claiming the podcast is transphobic), so clearly you know it is going to be balanced and informed debate, instead of the typical instant affirmation TRAs want. If TRAs want it silenced, you know it must be good!
