Abertay University student Lisa Keogh cleared after being investigated for saying women have vaginas

“While I may no longer be a student at the University, it is still vital to me that others have the opportunity to take part in lively open debates without worrying about being punished afterwards.

“If Abertay just carries on as before, this journey will have been for no good reason.”

She went on: “Although Abertay denies this, it was my gender critical views that led to me being investigated by the University and this should never have happened.

"I know the University has a duty to investigate all complaints, but to draw this process out for two months while I was taking my final exams was needlessly cruel.

“The University should put a process in place that will enable it to judge what complaints need to be investigated and which ones can be dismissed immediately because they’re vexatious and politically motivated."

This has caused an enormous chilling effect.

She's just spoken brilliantly.

I can't believe WH are finally breaking their silence this week!

@CroydianSlip

She's just spoken brilliantly.

I can't believe WH are finally breaking their silence this week!

I'm hoping its not from the stance of how awful this is going to be for the poor students who felt so offended they complained about her. Ill not hold my breath that WH will be supportive.

Abertay are pretty much unrepentant. Instead of apologising for subjecting one of their students to a witchhunt, their statement disapprovingly referred to the fact that "the student involved in this case has chosen to comment publicly".

MichelleScarn · 10/06/2021 11:40

Yes @peadarm how dare she not capitulate and do as we say, and even tell people about this.
Ridiculous, how Abertay can think this makes them look an attractive choice is beyond me!
