More nonsensical data-gathering

If what is gathered can even be called data.

Service user feedback form after having my Covid vaccine. (Service BTW impeccable from start to finish.)

More nonsensical data-gathering

Oh ffs. Surely thats so nonsensical its become a breach of GDPR? I mean, can they explain why they are collecting that 'data'?

JellySlice · 02/06/2021 10:27

Good point re GDPR.

I get my second vaccine in a few weeks, I'll see if I get invited to give feedback.

jellybeansforbreakfast · 02/06/2021 10:29

I shall too, and I'll remind DH if he gets the feedback form.

JellySlice · 02/06/2021 10:32

I was given a feedback slip with a QR code, plus the code was on posters in the queueing area.

And it says "If you would like to feedback on the service formally, contact PALS".

What's the betting that contacting PALS about this would get the response that the feedback is about the service, not the feedback form itself, so they cannot comment?

I had to wait 15 minutes after my jab and was asked to fill in a feedback form. I whiled away the time explaining why sex not gender was important.

JellySlice · 02/06/2021 10:57

I can see why gender id might be important for feedback on a service - if a TW for example was called Sir, they might give the service a lower score. But for the service to understand the reason behind the lower score they need to collect both sets of information. In this case, however, gender id is as relevant as religion. So why don't they ask about religion?

You're initial response was right, if they have a need to know about both sex and gender they should ask. And the only way to get meaningful data in return is to separate the questions.

And they need to have a valid reason for needing to know, as per GDPR. It isn't impossible that they do, but their current question won't give them any meaningful answers to either the sex or gender of the individual completing it.
