Partly because I'm semi-retired so don't have to deal with dick moves from HR about pronouns and partly because of all sorts of other things, I failed to see how dangerous the whole TWAW etc is. I'm doing my best to educate myself (a lot from this board) but am really struggling with putting my argument across to people who seem to think that I'm the one who doesn't get it.
I have a role within a local political party which I intend to resign shortly but intend to stay within the party to fight against the crap that is happening. I do have some support but it tends to be from older feminists like me. Recently things came to a head because I told someone (a man) how disappointed I was with the leadership and what was happening to our organisation. He told me that he used to think like that but that he read stuff and educated himself. I felt so undermined and I seem to have lost the confidence to argue against things like this.
I don't know what I'm really looking for here - some solidarity perhaps and just for you all to know how refreshing I find this board.
I'm going away for a couple of days soon so may not reply immediately.

This is going to be a very long party, sadly, so you're in plenty of time.

HR person here. Not all HR people are like that!

I'm self-employed. I would lost a client before engaging in this gender-bollocks stuff!

Welcome to the resistance OP. We are all oblivious, until we aren't. Jo Rowling's completely reasonable statements and essay was what alerted me to the issue last July. When I realised some people had been fighting this since 2010 I was gobsmacked.

There is an element of stealth policy and ideological cultural capture about the whole thing. Power and control disguised with pretty words and colorful flags. Stealth policy capture is even openly enshrined in the recent Denton's doc.

I had a similar discussion with a male friend. I wasn't prepared for the conversation then, I knew on a gut level that there were deep, deep logical fallacies and sinister implications, and that it was regressive, and illiberal with no debate and mantras and personal attacks for people who didn't you the party line but I couldn't fully articulate it, even to myself, and I didn't have the facts at my fingertips.

I am prepared for the conversation now. As someone once said, it's not the end, it's not even the beginning of the end, but it may just be the end of the beginning.

Either that or liberal democracy and women as a political sex class are stuffed, but we are not going down without a fight.

thank you everyone - I feel so welcomed and I know i have found my people. I had a long drive so listened to some of the podcasts -I had been reading Graham Lineham for a while and now I intend to pay for a subscription to his substack having listened to his Savage Minds stuff. The man is amazing. I'm simultaneously pleased to be joining you whilst being incredibly sad and angry that I have to.
DH is fully onboard after reading GL and hearing a few of the podcasts
