A late entry to the discussion on elections in Wales tomorrow, but here's an over view from Merched Cymru re the candidates for Police and Crime Commissioner, regarding their views on crimes committed by natal males who identify as women.

Its clear that some of our would-be commissioners are either blissfully unaware of the harm that will be caused by ignoring the importance of sex, or deliberately swerving what they know to be a minefield. Either way, its clear that we need to start holding commissioners to account in the way crimes are investigated and reported. Increasingly perpetrators are charged and reported according to the sex they identify with rather than their biological sex. This is in our opinion is the 'entry point' at which natal males who identify as women are able to access womens prison's. Added to this we have the trauma of female victims who are forced by courts to use the offenders chosen pronouns, and the reporting of crimes by the press which affects the public perception of female offending. All in all, it's a shocking picture, and we feel its really not good enough that many of our crime commissioners hide behind a mask of ignorance. This needs to be addressed, and yet again it seems like the only way to expose this practise is for women to raise awareness of what is going on and hold the justice system to account.
Here's the latest gem reported in the Western telegraph to illustrate our point

Its very rare for women to be charged with exposure, less than 1% were charged with exposure and voyeurism in England and Wales so attention grabbing headlines like this are misleading to say the least.
