I have been a lurker on mm for years first time to start a thread.

I just want to thank you all for these threads, you have encouraged me to look deeper find the hidden agendas ask hard questions.

In general giving me another side so I can think for myself instead of constant bias.

I'm in Ireland and this year I bought a women bag and next is the woman 👕

Hi Dublin
Another Irishwoman here . The Countess is doing great work but the Irish media are captured

Womansisterdaughtermother · 01/05/2021 14:14

@Dublincailin Flowers you were so brave

MoreWater · 01/05/2021 14:19

Thank you from me also.

Dublincailin · 01/05/2021 14:46

I'm not brave, I'm no different to every other woman.

All women are strong and determined but Irish women, we have spent years fighting for an equality of sorts.

Now men are coming back to take what women have fought for.

No, like every women on here, I'm not going down without a fight.

I have been keeping my thoughts to myself for so long, it's so good that I'm not only person who hasn't drunk the cool aid.

Hi Dublin. Is Éireannach mé freisin. I'm sorry you went through that with your parents and fair play for running away, you're some woman. I had friends in school in the 90s who got pregnant and kept their babies with the support of their parents and partners, it's horrific your parents had the reaction they did.

Very glad there's another of us here.

FeckTheMagicDragon · 01/05/2021 16:02

The woman in our family have a long tradition of running away from home 😊
My Granny (who was supposed to become a nun) ran away and married my Grandad who was a widower with two young daughters and a farm to look after. The girls were with the nuns and he was able to get them back after he married. They had not been well cared for.
My Mum (oldest daughter) was supposed to stay at home, help look often the tribe of siblings and do the business accounts, ran away to London to complete her nursing training.
I had more support but buggered off to the UK when my son was a baby as I was sick of being expected to hide my son as if he was a shameful secret. This was in 1985.
I’ll be honest- it wasn’t that much better in the UK, the main difference is that I was not in a village where everyone knows your business and has an opinion. I was anonymous and safe.

Dublincailin · 01/05/2021 16:20

God if every one of us, who were shamed for having children stood side by side we would be 1000’s strong.

All marching down O’Connell street to fight for future generations of girls we would bring Dublin to a standstill.

Remind the powers that we are still.here and we won't stand by while young girls are thrown to the wolves.

Dia duit agus fáilte, Dublin. I used to live in Dublin myself for a few years, near James’.
I’m in awe of your resilience, and angry at what happened to you and so many other women.

Pudmyboy · 01/05/2021 18:47

Welcome Dublin, I joined MN a year ago and the women (and men) here have saved my sanity and given me hope and resources missing in most of the main stream media these days. I hope you stay and grow in strength xx

FionaMacCool · 01/05/2021 22:42

Hi Dublin, I'm another Irishwoman, regular GC poster. Welcome Flowers
I've learned a lot over years of lurking here, and initially, thought we were going to swerve the worst of this ideology. How naive I was.
