Senedd Elections - the questions we want to ask our politicians in Wales

With the Welsh Senedd elections coming up in May, MC have been focusing on raising issues with leaders of political parties around safeguarding children. In 2020 we saw the High Court Judgement on the dangers of experimental medical treatment on children, and now we have clear evidence of sexual assault and harassment of girls in schools. You would think this would sharpen the focus on girl’s safety, but unfortunately we can’t take for granted that the dots will be joined around the importance of maintaining safe spaces for girls to safeguard and protect them. The feeling is amongst MC members that our politicians are not doing enough to either safeguard girls, or nurture their aspirations.

As it happens Safe Schools Alliance (SSA) have drawn up five excellent, direct questions for candidates who are standing for London Mayor and they have generously given permission for us to use the questions in the upcoming Senedd elections. We think this action is too good not to share, so we have asked MC members (and anyone who wants to raise these concerns) to put the same questions to all local candidates, especially those who are campaigning to keep their seats. Even those of us in MC who are members of various political parties believe that our Senedd members can no longer take our vote for granted. We have already sent these questions to Party Leaders in the Senedd and will look forward to their response, which we will publish.
I've attached the five questions that we would like all Party Leaders to answer ‘yes’ to.

These are really good questions OP (and credit to SSA too).

Hope you get some really good answers but I'm not hopeful. I notice that Plaid and Labour are both committed to self-ID and therefore to ending female only spaces (plus I assume, affirming young people who identify as trans). We live in dangerous times.

Absolutely support these 5 questions. How can we let our children go to school each day if we can't feel sure they are safe.

My daughter has to use mixed sex toilets at school and wipe urine off the seats before sitting down.
What is this teaching her about her rights as a female and her role in life cleaning up after wobbling willies?
