I caught the presenter of the podcast, Sam Poling on BBC Radio Scotland this morning: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-56605793

I remember Emma's murder back in 2005, and there definitely seemed to be a feeling that because she was a prostitute, well what did anyone expect?

It's chilling that reading the accounts of other women involved in prostitution, about the violence they experience, and the strategies they use to make sure their DNA is linked to the men they go with - not to prevent their murder, but in the hope that if they're killed someone will face justice for it. So utterly bleak and hopeless.

I haven't listened to all the episodes yet, but the podcast is here: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/brand/p09bxhkf

Here's hoping for justice for Emma, and answers at long last for her family.

...Not to prevent their murder, but in the hope that if they're killed someone will face justice for it.

And we are expected to parrot the line ‘sex work is work’ in order to be a good little feminist. Sad

Exactly - just one of those ordinary, every day jobs where you go to work knowing that your client may murder you, and if he does then he'll likely go unpunished so you plant your DNA in the hope that your family will know what happened to you.

not to prevent their murder, but in the hope that if they're killed someone will face justice for it.

This is why I can’t call anyone a feminist if they call this a job like any other.

Agree.

Poor soul forced into prostitution because of addiction. Flowers RIP

That's tough reading- just a catalogue of women whose voices weren't heard.

I feel so sad that her life was taken from her and there's been no justice for her.
