'Victim's Code' brought out

At least this looks like a move in the direction of trying to make things easier for victims of rape and dv.

'They will be told what to expect at every stage of the justice system including, for the first time, their automatic right to be told when a perpetrator is due to leave prison. Victims of sexual violence will be able to choose the gender of their police interviewer and there will be clearer advice on when they can have their evidence pre-recorded ahead of a trial – rather than face the stress of cross-examination in front of a packed courtroom. Where an offender is a foreign national offender, victims will for the first time have the right to know when they are deported.'

Of course the use of 'gender' renders one of the points fairly meaningless. Hmm

Argh, excuse the apostrophe error.

Victims' Code.

I suppose gender used here could be to cover the situation of a trans identifying person... but I image tw would want a female for validation purposes rather than another tw. Better change it to the word sex for clarity, surely!

This was what the quite dramatic debate in the Scottish parliament was about - thanks to Johann Lamont's work, the word 'sex' was used instead of 'gender' so women can request a female Forensic Examiner. (They may not get one, but that's another matter).
