There's an awful lot of (well-intentioned, I'm sure) whataboutery at the moment, so I thought it might be useful to re-share this excellent blog post, in case any of you are wanting something to help explain why "men are victims of violence too" isn't a reason not to talk about violence against women and girls.

(With thanks to whoever shared this originally.)

I’m fucking exhausted reading, hearing the men whitabootery
Hand wringing posts from their mums, wives, partners about how great they are.NAMALT
Women berating other women for speaking out

It’s about us.women
I didn’t rock up to BLM and whine ohh what about us white folk our injustices suffered
So don’t see an event that’s about women and make it all about men

''whatabouterys'' I've seen on SM in the last few days include ''where are the lists of dead men'', from people who think that because an MP is reading out the list of women, it must be the Govt that collects the data.

It isnt. Its unpaid volunteers.

Jess Phillips does fine work. It’s a ghastly list, but needs to be a acknowledged

That's a good article. Wouldn't share it because of whataboutery fear though.
