Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Door to door political campaigning can start 8 March - what to ask your GREEN candidates

There will be elections in May and campaigning can start 8 March. I thought it would be a good idea to have a series of threads so people can easily create a piece of paper to sit by the front door with issues to raise with each party.

The idea is to make it clear that women are prepared to make a fuss about these issues, and take their votes elsewhere.

Show each candidate what position their party has taken and how you would like that to change.

Research your local candidates if you can, and make it clear you will vote for the party (or candidate) that is clearest on women's issues.

My starter for the Greens:

Do you believe people can change sex?

As sex is a matter of fact and science, and you are prepared to say 'transwomen are women', why should I believe any other science facts you state?

Apart from your questions, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE is the only one that really jumps to mind.

BarbaraofKent · 28/02/2021 10:25

Why do you hate women so much?!

Teawamutu, surely it is fundamental for women to want to be reassured that a part is aware of their concerns, and, at minimum, is willing to listen to them.

The Green Party is, if anything, more misogynistic than the LibDems. Sian Berry has made clear that there is no place for GC women in the party. Why, then, should women vote for them.

What would you propose instead as a sensible question for women concerned about the erosion of their language, protections under the Equalities Act and more?

I was going to say that. Or just laugh hysterically!

I said that the OP's questions were excellent.

But the Greens are so captured, so utterly batshit that it's entirely obvious that women are not listened to, recognised or valued except as support humans.

I think your first two paras would be a great statement to lay in front of a candidate and ask for their thoughts on.

teawamutu · 28/02/2021 10:38

And to clarify, I don't think it's valueless to make it clear that they are so ludicrous we're not treating them as a serious political party any more.

I'll ask about self ID. They have representation on the London Assembly so treat them seriously.
