Door to door political campaigning can start 8 March - what to ask your CONSERVATIVE candidates

There will be elections in May and campaigning can start 8 March. I thought it would be a good idea to have a series of threads so people can easily create a piece of paper to sit by the front door with issues to raise with each party.

The idea is to make it clear that women are prepared to make a fuss about these issues, and take their votes elsewhere.

Show each candidate what position their party has taken and how you would like that to change.

Research your local candidates if you can, and make it clear you will vote for the party (or candidate) that is clearest on women's issues.

So actually, I think the Conservatives deserve a lot of credit. Make it clear you are very pleased about the DofEd statement on gender stereotypes, the decision not to go ahead with Self-ID etc:

My starter:
Could we have a minster for women please, rather than one for women and equalities?

I'll be asking why is the government issuing fake ID documents, giving males legal recognition as females? How can we protect single sex spaces and services if men can acquire the legal status of women?

Why are there currently men housed in womens prisons?

Agree a minister for Women is much needed-equalities encompasses everyone and women have our own unique essential need to be protected from male violence & sexual assault.

I will leave others to ask questions about women and self ID. I will ask how they can remain in a party led by a misogynist whose inactions over the pandemic have cost needless thousands of lives, who left his last wife when she was undergoing cancer treatment?

Like most people, I've never had a meaningful vote. The safe seat system means 'votes' are a patronising fairy tale, like putting letters up the chimney for Santa Clause.
Agreed a Minister for Women is needed, and so is a Ministry for Older People (currently, Liz Altman and Esther Rantzen are occasionally wheeled out by journalists to 'speak for' the majority of the adult population i.e. over 50's) And a Minister for Disabled People and Carers.
Clear the decks by dumping the already over represented boys' lobbyists. Culture/Media/Sport Ministers can go, for a start, since Exercise is entirely different, and needed by everyone. Culture is, as interpreted, what a metropolitan elite get, while excluding those who cannot travel and cannot afford and are disabled and have caring responsibilities.( And, of course those who care about the planet and wouldn't travel needlessly for amusement) In other words, those who can get to the Royal Opera House don't need subsidy or lobbyists or Ministers.

(Put your entertainments and exhibitions online, and be inclusive, luvvies. That's democratising. You can earn pennies per viewing, and still make more in total. You can show a performance of the top people, at their peak, and it is there for all time. You can perform in front of green screen and avoid all those costly scene changes and premises)
