Mother of famous tennis playing sons have face lift because they tease her for her turkey neck - the result of years of outdoor activity that gave them the careers they wanted

This is in lots of papers, and on one level it she had done it for herself I would have thought so what.

But so angry that her two spoilt brats made her uncomfortable instead of acknowledging everything she did for them.

Worse still I suspect it will just make more women feel that it is not acceptable for women to allow an aspect of aging to be on display.

Just so cross.

Good for her if she wanted it. I really like JM and reckon she'd be pretty hard to convince to do anything she didn't want to.

Toorapid · 16/02/2021 16:04

I absolutely guarantee her sons had nothing to do with this decision (other than, possibly, making it financially possible).

A terrible story I agree, but highly unlikely to be factual. She said something in jest that the papers have decided would make a story.

PopperUppleton · 16/02/2021 16:06

Well I think she looks fab. But then I always did. I call my neck cream 'anti turkey neck' cream, people do comment cruelly about women ageing in perfectly natural ways.

MyGoMargot · 16/02/2021 16:09

Andy M comes across as a feminist to me

Can’t imagine JM is the easily offended sort

I reckon this was a humorous statement lost in translation

Dollywilde · 16/02/2021 16:11

What @MyGoMargot said.

IEat · 16/02/2021 16:12

Said in a loving jokey way...I’d lovingly tell them to fuck off . The before and after pics really make me wonder if the difference in her face isn’t because if lighting/make up

Toorapid · 16/02/2021 16:12

Who remembers when AM called out the sexist journalist, in support of the Williams sisters?

OhHolyJesus · 16/02/2021 16:16

I do Too and how he corrected the journo with 'Scottish' when labelled British. Love AM.

stumbledin · 16/02/2021 16:16

Well even a joke told by "loving" sons only reinforces the social norms that women cant be seen to age.

It has nothing to do with any particular journalist as all papers have the same story.

Far more likely that it is in fact being spread by the company that specialises in the treatment she had.

So no amount of token statements in line with forwarding a career will undo the inerent sexism is ageist remarks made by sons about their mothers.

Not a face lift - she hasn't been under the knife. She's had three lots of micro-needling to produce collagen.
Her face, her choice and if I had the time/money I'd do the same.
She looks good on it and from the article has a great relationship with her boys so - pun intended - I'd wind your neck in OP Wink

CharlieParley · 16/02/2021 16:30

She has an excellent relationship with her sons. I'm not sure why you would call them spoilt brats in this way. Yes, she made a lot of sacrifices to support her kids but they both worked incredibly hard for the success they have enjoyed.

And given the Scottish humour, it's highly unlikely that she would ever take it as serious criticism. What you're missing here is that this article is a straight up product endorsement. No idea if there's something in it for Judy, but the entire article promotes the heck out of this treatment.

PopperUppleton · 16/02/2021 16:37

Has anyone seen the skit with the third Murray brother Duncan (I think?). It's very funny and good for her for playing along.

A journalist? Are you sure it wasn't an advertising copywriter? The whole "article" looks like an undisguised ad to me.

reallyisthisallthereis · 16/02/2021 17:04

Not a fan of plastic surgery but this is non-surgical and I have to admit, she looks good. I can't imagine her sons bullying her into it, just doesn't fit with the rest of her personality or indeed her son's.

stumbledin · 16/02/2021 18:04

Amazing how many will make excuses for engrained sexism because they have fallen under the spell of a man with some sort of talent.

Just why so many musicians and actors are never called to account.

She specifically says she hadn't even thought about until they started making fun of her appearance. And of course a doting mother would say oh its just humourous. Not likely to say my darling boys I spend my life of have turned out to be ingrained sexists. Any man who had done outdoors sports for years would be lauded for having an interesting and weather beaten face.

Not forgetting that it turns out one of the daughter in laws admits to having felt sheshould have similar work done.

Sounds like, despite being an incredible and sucessful woman, not only her sons but society have made her feel she needs to conform to a false representation of women.

If they had kept their mouths shut and not felt entitled to make personal comments it would seem that inher own words she would not have thought of doing.

Stop excusing men, because you like them, for their sexism and ageism.

Despicable.

This reads to me like she got a freebie from the Dr, who’s name features unusually heavily in the article. It’s advertising.
