So there has been slot of debate and upset about those terms in medical journals. I don't want any trans bashing I just honestly want to know what the trans women/non binary equivalent is. Like men need prostate checks and checking their scrotom etc.

Well as long as Jessica is happy who gives a fuck about anyone else hey! Angry

No, not ten days. A week apart, Yaniv endorsed "people who bleed" and objected to "person with a prostate".

You couldn't make this up.

Honestly, I don't see how you can have one without the other. Tit for tat, as it were.

The fact that this body-part/function language is (mostly) only ever applied to women's health issues is one of the reasons many women start noticing the misogynist thread within trans rights activism.

You are correct in that it would be fairer if it was applied to both men and women. There would still be problems, though, because this depends on having a certain level of education and understanding around body parts and functions.

This Mayo Clinic commentary carefully avoids use of the word “men” though a coy “males” does slip in there.

It does seem unsurprisingly uncommon though, on a brief search.

I think the tweet in this thread captures the situation well

Women are being told that we have to adapt our language as a kindness to other female people who don't "identify as women", but really it seems to me that it is so that transwomen don't have to be reminded that womanhood is anything other than a frilly dress/long hair/high heels etc. That is why it is a one way street. At the end of the day, it is the transwomen who have more power than transmen. I wonder why Hmm It is almost as if it were something to do with their sex.

I have largely found that many of the same people who will scream that 'menstruators' or 'person with a cervix' is the inclusive way to speak about women, really really dislike 'penis people' or 'scrotum havers' and such. Its..odd.

CranberriesChoccyAgain · 09/02/2021 16:58

The movement is mainly pushed by TW, and although their inclusive mantra is TWAW, TMAM, non-binary are valid, etc., we know the primary demographic is TW. To have women's issues or products or healthcare not be rephrased as "people with cervixes, uteruses" etc. means it hurts their feelings so it's rewritten to hammer home that they are women, not us. It's ridiculous, and I don't know anyone who's buying it.
