Trying to use a famous person for woke points and publicity much, you bunch of sell-out?

Fuck off, Clue.

I don’t understand how erasing a word (women) makes it inclusive?!?! Surely adding words (transmen and non-binary people) makes it inclusive.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/02/2021 11:39

Well that tells you everything you need to know really, doesn't it?

It does indeed.

prisencolinensinainciusol2 · 04/02/2021 11:43

@Marmite27

FUCK OFF (haven’t got a ) Clue!

Beat me to it!

HerselfIndoors · 04/02/2021 12:10

Agree with Errol - no, it's not necessary to "gender" body parts, because gender is not what we're talking about. Bodies are sexed, not gendered, because gender isn't an actual innate quality.

There's such massive confusion over what gender actually is and complete failure to apply logic to their own arguments. When addressing the matter of biological sex, if you just call it gender and act as if that's the same thing, then you are going to have a circular argument. If gender is what matters and it's not related to body parts, then why not just leave sex out of it and don't do anything to your body? Enjoy yourself having your 3/100 genders or whatever, leave your body alone and keep same-sexed spaces.

If you are an organisation for menstruation, then you are an organisation for a particular SEX, that's all you need to think about.

radicalnotion · 04/02/2021 12:24

It's like being stuck in a never ending year 7 wet lunch break with a group of really hyped up, unpleasant kids high on their own cleverness and blue smarties.

100% this.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 04/02/2021 13:13

As others have said, clueless. If I was employing PR people to advertise my product, I’d expect them to (a) know what sort of people might buy it, and (b) not piss them off.

SunsetBeetch · 04/02/2021 13:16

I think the tweet is from several months ago.

It is. Sorry I didn't realise, just saw it being shared again the other day.

Anyway maybe it's good I brought it up again as it seems some of you were using the app and weren't aware that it's not "for women".

TRAs have really come for our periods haven't they? The apps, the sanitary products, the period poverty charities...

Something so uniquely female too. Hmmnnn...

OP posts:
grafittiartist · 04/02/2021 13:23

I deleted it after the last time.
Shame- as it was a great app.

Whatwouldscullydo · 04/02/2021 13:28

A trip on reddit should give them son food for thought on that...

Vermeil · 04/02/2021 13:56

‘It’s unnecessary to gender body parts and doing so can restrict healthcare access to those who need it.’

I’ve seen this asserted elsewhere, and I don’t get it.
A lot of TRAs insist that people should be able to identify their way completely out of their biological sex, to the point of even changing their birth certificate, so not just swapping woman/man but also male/female. Trans people must be completely aware of their biological sex, because otherwise the whole concept of trans is meaningless. The only way a trans person is going to have their access to certain healthcare restricted is by going the whole TRA hog and completely denying their biological sex, surely?
It seems completely arse about face.

babbaloushka · 04/02/2021 13:57

Completely agree.

Totally - it's the circularity again. You can only be trans, and claim special status, LGBTQ+++ rights, and to belong to the most persecuted group on the planet, if you acknowledge your biological sex and acknowledge that you have changed from some previous incarnation. If TWAW and TMAM in every single possible conceivable way, then there's no trans is there.

There was a BBC article a while ago about how a transman was treated as a man in hospital and so that person's medical rights weren't being respected and they complained. Now IMO that's right, they should be treated as a biological woman/trans man, not a man, for medical purposes, but I bet if the medical staff were aware they were too shit scared to point it out for fear of losing their jobs as the demand is that we all pretend trans people are 100% what they identify as. The whole thing is meaningless.

FemaleAndLearning · 04/02/2021 14:29

I use my Garmin watch app Connect to track my period and symptoms. I only got the option to add this if I chose female.
My daughter uses Flo but tells me there is a chat section and there was a transwoman on the chat.
She never used the chat as she is only 13.

chicklingpixies · 04/02/2021 14:49

@eurochick

I'd like to comment on this but I have no idea how to locate it on twatter. I can't see it on either JK or clue's feed.
I seem to remember that it was tweeted ages ago as a response to JKR’s person with uterus tweet. Clue and cycle tracking apps are shite anyway, just note down the first day of your mens in the calendar, old school like.
Whatsnewpussyhat · 04/02/2021 14:54

‘It’s unnecessary to gender body parts and doing so can restrict healthcare access to those who need it

By correctly sexing body parts, healthcare provision is given appropriately. Pretending we have no sex will be used as an excuse to remove/defund FEMALE healthcare.

HerselfIndoors · 04/02/2021 14:57

I don't get why it's called Clue, what an odd name. Flo makes sense. But if I was launching a period app I'd call it Blob.

Indoorcamping · 04/02/2021 14:58

deletes clue app

I would definitely use blob Grin

Get on it!

I wouldn't use free period tracking apps anyway. If a product is free, you are the product; Somebody somewhere is harvesting the data about our cycles, which give me the ick.

Now why would a TW be in the chat? I hope to god it wasn't Yaniv!

So we have the toilets for people with penises and the toilets for people with vaginas. If only there was a name to describe those groups more succinctly.

PuffItsGone · 04/02/2021 18:21

Ffs I was enjoying using Clue, and now I’m going to have to delete it. This is getting tiresome. Can we just acknowledge science and stop this pandering
