Name changed for this. I work for an organisation that is in the Stonewall top 100. I'm in management and part of my remit is equalities. Unfortunately, I'm a gender critical feminist and genuinely can't speak out at work.
I'm going to be in a meeting next week to discuss LGBT history month and how to celebrate it remotely. I'll keep my mouth shut if the subject gets onto the Stonewall riots! I wonder if there are any people I could put forward who are out of the norm but who are unimpeachable?

I suppose it would be a bit confrontational to suggest lesbian MP and QC Joanna Cherry....

As so many examples seem to be Scottish and involved in the creative life then how about Val McDermid?

It seems to me to be so important that I'd like it to have a thread of its own. Would you start one or shall I?

Hi @Shedbuilder - sorry, I missed this earlier. It is just so interesting that piece by legal feminist, and I am pondering whether I should just sod it and send it to the senior management team at my organsiation and say I've been concerned about being part of the Stonewall Champs scheme for a while and use it as the cover to raise my concerns formally. I'm quite senior myself, but still - dare I? The OP here is senior and in HR so it seemed worth posting (without meaning to derail the original request).

It definitely deserves a thread. My last thread was deleted before I read a single reply - yes, apologies to all you wonderful women who responded to my query about how to hire a GC feminist to a comms role! So I will happily pass this one over to you!

I know she's been sacked but it's premature to consign her to history. I'm assuming the OPs brief wouldn't really include currently active people?

I was confused by the mention of Martina - I think of her as still current though I suppose in a tennis context she is historic.
