I wanted to put this here as a useful resource. We (SSAUK) are encouraging people to write to their councils to remind them of the high court ruling and to ensure policies and teaching resources are in line with the ruling

In light of the recent High Court judgement that children under 16 should not be prescribed puberty blockers, we are encouraging parents and carers to write to their own county council and ask them to make sure that their trans policies and schools guidance are in line with the ruling of the High Court. We would like hear from you what response you have from your council. We would also encourage parents to adapt the letter to send to their school / Multi-Academy Trust if they are concerned about the school’s policies.

Ta. I have a feeling my council has yet to even hear about gender-woo, thankfully, but it's a good idea.

We are concerned that schools may still be teaching that puberty blockers are a valid treatment option for kids with gender issues. So it's a reminder to the councils that they should communicate this to schools.

Thanks for this. I looked at the SSAUK website and as a result I’ve just checked my local primary school’s website and it looks as if they’ve got it wrong:

‘At governors and staff are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for all pupils, staff, parents and carers receiving services from the school, irrespective of race, gender, disability, faith or religion or socio-economic background. We aim to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity and able to participate fully in school life.’

I should write to them and request that they adhere to guidelines in the equality act and refer to sex not gender - shouldn’t I?

Yes, please do!

Thanks for looking at the website.

Yes you should. I did at my kids school and they changed their policies to be in line with the Equality Act.

It’s frustrating as in the longer document they correctly list sex as a protected characteristic but refer to gender instead of sex everywhere else.
