I've just had an ad on Facebook for interlabial pads

Are they a thing? Putting a pad between your labia to mop up excess blood, pee or discharge apparently https://ecovibe.co.uk/products/interlabial-pads

Surely they just fall down the loo when you have a pee? Grin

Apparently they are very useful if you have heavy periods, to use together with a reusable menstrual pad.

I don't think you keep them on whilst you pee Smile

I think I'd forget! I am a mooncup user tho Smile

And they're already sold out. [cross]

Well, if you have a rectocele (or other type of prolapse) that means mooncups and tampons leak, this sort of thing is just an added piece of sanitary protection. I guess you wouldn't see the point of it if you haven't experienced the sort of issues that make it useful!

Melroses · 09/01/2021 16:18

I can't see how they would work. They look uncomfortable. I used to have tampons fall out, and that used to hurt. Shock

I understand additional protection. It's the interlabia bit that I thought was odd. I could just imagine them being quite uncomfortable

Not uncomfortable. I use them as extra protection on my heavy days or at night - with my reuseable pads. They just nestle in, not tucked right up and made of soft cloth rather than padded.

I will admit to losing one of two down the loo when I’ve forgotten I was using them SmileBlush

DialSquare · 09/01/2021 16:55

Being a woman of a certain age I wouldn't require them for periods anymore but they may be an idea for any slight cough or sneeze leakages!

This is totally what would happen to me

Thank you GrinGrin

I see what you mean, OP. I think they'd probably be a lot comfier than a wodge of bog roll, but yes - I'd lose them down the pan too! Also, I'd want a fresh one for each trip to the loo, which would mean many per day thanks to the number of cups of tea I drink.

WooYa · 09/01/2021 18:49

I saw these the other day! They seem uncomfortable and wasteful 🙄

elfycat · 09/01/2021 18:53

So like some kind of sootikin pad?

Nice...

(I prefer the giant pad of doom idea. Had lots of experience with those)

dyslek · 10/01/2021 13:06

How do you keep them in place?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 10/01/2021 15:55

Knickers. Proper Harvest Festivals, I presume.

RadicalFern · 10/01/2021 16:14

I've used something like this (in the form of reusable bamboo cotton makeup removal pads) and they were pretty great. They tuck in between neatly and aren't uncomfortable. I changed them fairly regularly but it was worth it to avoid the enormous reusable pad wedgie.

Melroses · 10/01/2021 16:14

Gaffer tape.

Babdoc · 11/01/2021 10:03

Melroses, thank you for making me laugh on a miserable wet morning! That is priceless.
