Why are "reputable" news outlets still allowing Mermaids propaganda?

Tavistock Vs Bell is done.
We don't wish to hear more promotion for the horrendous medical treatment pushed onto gender non conforming children.

Article is full of SG's opinion stated as fact and upside down ideology stated as though it were right way round.

I think looking at a 2-year-old and saying 'yes, he's probably gay' is just weird.

Totally agree and clearly done by someone who has NO concept of child development. Children at that age (and older) think that hair length is a key factor in a whether a child is a boy or a girl, and a change of hair cut can change your sex. Obviously some of these idiotic adults agree.

It's so blatantly regressive and homophobic .

"In most cases, these young people have never met a single transgender individual in their lives – and in many cases, they have not even heard the word transgender before learning it was the word that described their own experiences."

Really? Because that's not what I'm seeing in schools where entire friend groups are jumping up and down in excitement at wearing breast binders.

It's like the Internet doesn't even exist...

AvocadoBathroom · 03/01/2021 09:27

@EdgeOfACoin

And deciding on his likely sexuality at 2.

I mean, really, who is thinking about their kid's sexuality at that age?!

Exactly. What kind of people are focusing on their child's sexuality at two? This makes my flesh crawl.
Whatwouldscullydo · 03/01/2021 10:11

Why on earth do they give article space to people who can't even answer the basic questions.

I mean someone who can't even define what they are about, is surely in no position to talk about a complex medical path.

Its extremely poor journalism to not even go back and quote her own words and why now she has gone back on them, and to clear up the very basic question of what it all is.

And it still seems to me that children (in particular girls) that are on the spectrum are disproportionately affected. Which is fine, I'll call you 'him' if you want, but please no medical interventions until you're an adult. I'm so concerned about what's going to happen when all these 'trans' boys and girls grow up.

Maybe they’ve never met a tomboy or a boy who likes fairies?

Wouldn't be that hard to read book on child development though would it. I mean before you start advocating for medicalising their development . It used to be perfectly normal fir kids to wear whatever they wanted out the dressing up box Sad

Read a book - what more than 280 characters?? 🤯

NonCisWoman · 03/01/2021 11:33

The Daily Mail is ten times better than the Independent these days.

280 characters screen shotted and saved forever... far less risky hey..

@HecatesCats

Journalism = reminding readers what Susie Green previously said of her child, except it never happens:

"Jack's favorite outfits were the tutu and Snow White costume. And again, that was fine. But not for Dad. So, Jackie's dad struggled, and he blamed me. His thoughts were that because I allowed the Polly Pocket and the My Little Pony, that I was facilitating and encouraging. And I disagreed. And it caused tensions. What I had come to the conclusion with, over the sort of years until she was about two, was that I had a very sensitive, quite effeminate little boy who was probably gay.

"But Jack's dad did not approve of our child's effeminate behavior, and it created such tensions that we ended up in couple's counseling. We went to couple's counseling, and what they said to us as parents that we had to agree, no matter what it was that we agreed upon we had to agree. At that point, Tim decided that I must agree with him, apparently, and then all the "girl toys" or "girly toys" as such were taken away and put away, and Jack was made aware that this was not appropriate. And suddenly, a confident, happy little boy became quite quiet, withdrawn, very clingy, and tearful. I didn't like it, and I didn't think it was right."

Where is this quote from?
Whatwouldscullydo · 03/01/2021 12:14

Archive link for when SG denies she ever said any of that.
