Greetings from the Baroness - and a progress report

I read on Mumsnet last month that Emma Nicholson was setting up a non-party women’s group, so I wrote and asked to join it. The Baroness welcomed me -- as I think she has welcomed all women who want to support women's and children's rights.

Today she sent out a friendly message, with a report on the progress made this year:

Dear colleague and friend,

I wish you a very Happy Christmas and wonderful New Year ahead. We have a common cause in our establishing the empowerment of women and in confirming the Rights of the Child as framed in the Children Act 1989.

It has been a very busy year despite the pandemic and I attach our achievements so far with more in the pipeline. I am also pulling together a Group of like-minded Parliamentary colleagues from all benches of both Houses which will be a non-party parliamentary campaign group, to encourage more activity in 2021.

It is a pleasure to work with you and I look forward immensely to our next steps together.

I'm looking forward to that too!

Not to detract from the Baroness and her amazing efforts. But here is another ‘progress’ report. From SEGM

A good link pulling together some of the happenings on the case study side.

I got that email too but didn't even notice it had an attachment (on my phone). Must go and read it properly

Thanks, Winesalot. And this is another good thing that’s happened this year - that concerned experts have set up a Society for Evidence-based Gender Medicine. Much-needed.

I’ll be bookmarking SEGM.org
