Has this been posted yet?

I can hardly believe it is true. So relieved!

@NiceGerbil

Invest porn is v popular.

I've just realised that there aren't any posters saying how porn is great and it's all fine and you're a bunch of prudes and aren't people allowed to wank etc. I wonder where they were.

I realised as I remembered when incest porn was mentioned that people say it's fine as is just a fantasy etc etc and suddenly wondered where they were.

They’re all too busy crying.

NiceGerbil · 16/12/2020 22:11

One of those mentions Japanese porn.

Recent news saying that women were being lured with modelling jobs and then raped coerced blackmailed etc

These men don't give a fuck. It's all about their poor little cocks.

One of the men in that Twitter link says he's worried about men killing themselves because of this...

I mean they've still got 3 million porn videos available plus the whole of the rest of the internet.

Fucks sake.

And yes of course it's going to be men before any of the people who are strangely absent from this thread say oh well women consume this like mad.

The categorisation is so fucking awful as well. Teen. Japanese. Incest. Milf. Etc etc etc.

Funny how it's the one area where it's aok and lefty men are all in favour because freedom of speech blah.

PotholeParadies · 17/12/2020 06:00

It is amazing what impact Kristoff has had.

Laila Mickelwait, Rose Kalemba and Avri Shapir (spelling?) have been campaigning for ages and getting the word out for years, and none of this would have happened without their courage. But people don't listen to women, they don't listen to victims.

Kristoff played a blinder. Brilliant brilliant article, stirring up as much empathy as possible all tied up with a suggestion of where we could channel our concerns: Mastercard and Visa!

NeurotreeWenceslas · 18/12/2020 17:06

(Has made me query if anyone at Barnardos has started to join the dots regarding some specific porn themes.)

PullTheBricksDown · 18/12/2020 17:10

One of the men in that Twitter link says he's worried about men killing themselves because of this...

What? So women have to be abused because otherwise men will kill themselves? I don't know what there is to say to that.

QuentinWinters · 18/12/2020 17:16

This is brilliant news. I think we haven't had an influx of the normal posters because it proves they've been watching stuff that could potentially be rape/child abuse and there is no justification.
Hopefully this is the first step to proper regulation at least (I want much stricter access controls to these sites and verification of actors identity/motives.)

NeurotreeWenceslas · 18/12/2020 17:22

Yes, I mean, Christ, fantasies about foster child incest? A child who is placed in foster care hasn't exactly had a great time of it in the first place. Ffs utter sick twats.

Clymene · 18/12/2020 17:26

It's a shame it took a man writing an article to finally shut down the dark abuse and torture of women and children that is pornhub. Hosted by some nice Canadians - Canada that lovely country of liberal values.

It's also a shame that the charities which are supposed to protect children have taken such a laissez faire attitude which has helped normalise that abuse and encourage a culture where kink shaming is considered to be bad form. Effectively it has helped men break down women's boundaries by making them feel ashamed of having them, opening them up to abuse and sexual violence.

NSPCC and Bernardos, I'm looking at you.

Clymene · 18/12/2020 17:36

This is what Childline has to say about porn:

Is it normal to watch porn?
Watching porn is a choice, and whether you choose to watch it or not is completely normal. Only you can decide if watching porn is something you feel comfortable about

Watching porn when you’re under 18 isn’t against the law and you shouldn’t have to feel worried or ashamed about it. You won’t get in trouble if you watch it yourself

Go for it kids! As long as it doesn't involve animals, rape, dead women or overt abuse, knock one out.

NiceGerbil · 18/12/2020 18:17

That's what childline says?

Fucking hell.

Do they mention whether it's ok for a grown up to want to watch porn with you? After all it's not illegal and completely normal :/

NeurotreeWenceslas · 18/12/2020 19:29

Excellent posts Clymene.

Childline isn't great on this area:

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 19/12/2020 00:53

@NiceGerbil

To be clear that doesn't mean 10 million had illegal content.

They have removed everything that wasn't uploaded by verified performers.

They say that they are very moral and wonderful for doing this, which they only did after a news paper report saying there were films of unconscious women and girls being attacked, and also underage content generally, which led to credit card companies blacklisting them. They were hit in the pocket.

They also continue to deny there was ever any illegal content. Even though everyone knows there was. And they've taken this very broad action. Which would be a big thing to do if they knew there was nothing iffy there.

So still bastards. But it's still good news.

This. Great news, and well overdue, but they get no cookies from me, the bastards.

Women and girls have been suffering for years because of their awful, immoral, indefensible practices - some have attempted suicide multiple times and I’m sure some will have succeeded - but Pornhub did nothing till their bottom line was threatened.

Incidentally I believe they’re based in Canada, that paradise of women’s rights under “feminist” Justin Trudeau. Yeah.

Even the couples porn may not be sweetness and light. Coercive opposite-sex relationships are legion.

Abusive men force their partners into prostitution, into professional porn, and into group sexual activity. They certainly force them into agreeing to film sexual activity for pornhub.

NiceGerbil · 19/12/2020 01:58

OMFG

been having a look around childline website

This is the major, respected, go to website for children in the UK

I was looking around sex and relationships porn etc. I'm, well. Horrified. DH was WTF.

Have any of you had a look around in there? It's all just. Completely wonky. Weird.

I've just been having a look and reading bits out to DH. He was Confused that can't be there. And I was showing him and. Yes. It was.

With porn for example surely the starting point is that it's for adults and would be 18+ in a game or a film. And if you see any it might be confusing or scary etc.

Nope. It says. This bit is for children 12+. Watching porn is normal.

That's just. Not the right starting point for me.

NiceGerbil · 19/12/2020 02:04

Ready Freddy I agree in theory but it's just. Nowhere near where we are.

If there were so many keen exhibishionist couples then you'd be able to pop round and say hello have a cup of tea etc.

Most 'amateur' porn is not.

I'm fine with removing the tiny amount of material by genuinely exhibitionist couples if it deletes a shit load of abuse.

It's not a human right to watch other people fucking.

Globally currently the benefits of letting a few genuine people through is not worth the raft of abuse.

NiceGerbil · 19/12/2020 03:23

You totally missed the point of my post.

Massively.

Yes swinging. Yes sharing videos with your friends. All good.

I mean this 'where does it stop though!!!???'.

Well. It stops when the social structures mean that sharing this content on the net is a tiny tiny drop in the ocean compared to people who are doing it for reasons other than keen exhibitionism.

I went on pornhub a couple of years back. Can't remember why. There were a lot of videos of line men wanking. I mean. They can probably stay.

I packed it in about 4 years before that when most of the clips on the homepage were of women who looked (were) unconscious in bog standard sitting rooms. AKA rape. I thought. Nope. I'm out.

Most 'amateur' porn is nothing of the sort.

I'm lucky that I'm able to have sex/ masturbate without having to have supporting material. I feel sad that apparently so many people can't.

I wonder how humans managed before all this Hmm

NiceGerbil · 19/12/2020 03:34

'Maybe we are genuinely headed for a 'porn license' with background checks and interviews etc.'

Actually that would be great.

Also for prostitution with a psychological check.

Good idea. Men won't like it though. Or capitalists. So it won't happen.

The idea of being concerned that men might be suicidal over having their 'favourites' gone. Only 3 million videos. When their 'service' didn't pull film of abducted underage girls being raped.

Play the free speech thing another time.

It's not worth the harm. Watching people fucking isn't essential. And. As mentioned. If you seek it out you can find real life people who are into being watched. Might take some effort though. And they might not be 14yo and scared. And they might say, no we don't like you...

I'm a big fan of real life. If you want to watch strangers fucking, that's a big ask. Not trivial. So do the homework, join the clubs etc etc all ok.

Where it's at now is not good.

NiceGerbil · 19/12/2020 03:47

Oh but the internet is global/ not controllable.

So don't worry. There will be plenty of material of all sorts available.

And in real life if you know the right people you can get what you want as well.

Yay.

Yep. Do not allow your child to look on childline.

We probably could do with a thread, but the open forum worries me and I almost don't want to advertise it iykwim? It looks like it's already a magnet for creeps.

Yep. Fucking yep.

I asked a social worker friend "who do you report childline / NSPCC to?" She started to tell me about the whistleblower service there but concluded herself, doh, obs not, and shrugged. Acknowledged the loophole.

I know Baroness Nicholson knows about this shit show though.

All those foundations I thought I knew well are just dry sand.
