Support Plaid Cymru MP - Helen Mary Jones

Not sure if there's been a thread on this.

Welsh (Plaid Cymru) MP Helen Mary Jones seems to be getting the Rosie Duffield treatment on twitter.

She has deleted a retweet and has seemingly been made to apologise.

It's hard to see what she retweeted as it's now deleted but it seems to be a retweet of a Professor Rosa Freedman tweet calling out JM's offensive response to the recent Keira Bell judgement.

Last night, Adam Price, leader of Plaid Cymru did a mantra statement on twitter....

Helen Mary Jones now being subjected to the "she needs reeducation, this is a teachable moment, she should be removed" treatment.

Yes, mwnci, I also get the impression that everyone had been asked to be quiet about it, and that this situation has forced Adam Price's ridiculous statement.
I would love to be able to vote for them (and couldn't last time as our local candidate stood down as part of the agreement with the lib dems) but simply cannot vote for them/remain a member if this is the party line and that nothing can be done from within the party.
Does anyone ( merched ?) know if there are any Plaid/cross party/women's groups dealing with this? I'm in a rural part of Wales and would love to be part of a group raising awareness on the subject but have no idea who to contact.

I would be involved in that daringDoris, if we can find out more.. It's very critical that they know how we feel about it. I think so many are in the twitter bubble, they think that "all that" is unopposed and beloved by all...

How very dare they attack a woman who is standing up against the Holocaust being appropriated! Look at them circling and attacking her on Twitter. It’s a disgusting feeding frenzy.

There will be a one-party state by the tine they have finished because they will have destroyed the credibility of all the alternatives. Our dystopia and their utopia.

That Plaid photo is hilarious.

The Helen Mary Jones story shows how mad this has all become. There was a time when the Holocaust was untouchable, and any attempt to compare a minority group's treatment with that of the Jewish genocide would have been regarded with horror by all and sundry. The fact that it's now the person who objects to the comparison being made is the one who's reviled is the perfect illustration of how demented it all is. One day (I hope) people will look back on this with bewilderment and wonder how we allowed this to happen.

Sadly there doesn't appear to be an official GC fight-back from Plaid women Daring. Which doesn't mean that they are happy with what's going on of course: we have lots of Plaid members and an increasing number of ex-members (including me).

The problem runs deep - started under Leanne Wood, exacerbated under Adam Price. The political capture in Wales is extensive. But we are working on it!

Am still a member but ony because I've been feeling too apathetic to deal with it properly and too wimpy to have a conversation about it with my local contact, who is a great fan of Adam Price, and I have absolutely no idea what he thinks about this issue, or whether he's even aware of it.

I've looked at the negative comments directed at her. Most of them are from men, mainly bearded ones. Photos can be very misleading, but I thought it was quite funny that my dip into the Twitter comments ties in with that Plaid photo.

The Labour Party must be breathing a sigh of relief that Plaid Cymru has overtaken it in the antisemitism stakes.

In fact Plaid Cymru is way out ahead, as they seem to have all ganged up against Helen Mary Jones. Not one of them defending their only MP who reckons a court judgement that annoyed trans people is not equivalent to the Holocaust.
