I can't see this posted anywhere yet:

OP posts:

System-wide failure in the entire branch of medicine, I suspect. But those children supplied illegally or unethically (whichever it was) are now on the pathway. What a racket.

Datun · 29/10/2020 12:28

I don't understand how they can have found "a lack of safeguarding which presents a risk to patient safety"

but

"We want to reassure everyone that we have not asked the pharmacy to stop supplying medicines to patients undergoing treatment for gender dysphoria"

One seems to contradict the other. It's so opaque, it says fuck all.

FindTheTruth · 29/10/2020 12:28

Thanks OP. I wonder if this is the end of GenderGP Dr Helen Webberley.

guidelines from the GPC last year said pharmacies must not work with online providers who are trying to circumvent the regulatory oversight in place within the UK

What business has GenderGP Dr Helen Webberley got left with UK patients?

Winesalot · 29/10/2020 12:35

Thank you for sharing. That is interesting but as Datun says, concerning in the seeming contradiction. I hope it means, if they are supplying a prescription that has been issued by a UK clinic they will continue. It is a concern obviously then for anyone who has bypassed the UK system, because how does this get resolved without further harm to a minor?

AnyOldPrion · 29/10/2020 12:36

Those things do appear contradictory Datun, however I would hope that what is actually happening is that the drugs will continue to be supplied temporarily in the brief period it takes to allow the patient’s situation to be reviewed by someone properly qualified. Presumably stopping them suddenly might be a risk in itself.

Datun · 29/10/2020 12:46

That's what I mean, the article itself doesn't tell you anything. Everyone is having to speculate over exactly what it does mean.

What is clear is that both the pharmacy and the GP are under even further scrutiny. Which can only be a good thing, in terms of safeguarding children.

Thanks for the share token Igneococcus. The Daily Mail has now picked this up too. It seems to be a slightly clearer report:
