Safe Schools Alliance - new parents guide for PSHE providers

I haven't read it all but I at first sight this is very comprehensive, you can tell just from the list of providers they have looked into and as they breakdown the government guidelines too it's not surprising it ends at 40 pages!

Thanks this looks really helpful. I need to find out what provider my dd's school uses.

MerchedCymru · 25/10/2020 14:46

Really thorough, comprehensive report from SSA. Doesn't specifically cover Wales (where Stonewall's view of RSE still holds sway) but still useful. Thanks so much Safe Schools Alliance.

It's infuriating that unfunded, grassroots organisations are having to do the work of governments, EHRC, safeguarding organisations, NSPCC, Education Ministers etc. And Judicial Reviews are having to be crowdfunded in support of the human rights of women and girls.

Shocking to realise how very little we matter to those in power.

Thanks, that's really helpful. Love SSA.

persistentwoman · 25/10/2020 15:16

Outstanding!!!!!
Well done SSA. This should be pinned to the top of this board so that all those parents wondering what the hell is being taught to their children in schools can quickly access it.
Shocking to see the NAHT involved in promoting gender woo woo to children Sad

OhHolyJesus · 25/10/2020 15:55

Please do share around, retweet or whatever. It would be good to get this circulating far and wide.

SSA have said there will be a part 2, with all the dodgy groups out there I'm not surprised!

It just shows now much we've taken our eye off the ball that people like the writers of these materials have been allowed to get so close to children. With no challenge whatsoever...

OhHolyJesus · 25/10/2020 16:47

And that it took 750 signatures to get the porn-like teaching out of schools in Warwickshire. Not just, 5 or 10 parents but 750, only when they hit large numbers the council started to reconsider when one look at the content should have been enough. Well frankly, it should never have been approved as you say persistent.

This really is an issue where sunlight is so important. Once parents become aware of the queer theory, uncritical approval of porn and the illegal acts that these groups gleefully present to children, there's a real WF moment.

Teachers need to be far more aware of their duty to exercise due diligence. As MNHQ regularly advise us all, not everyone on the internet behind these groups is who they claim to be.

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 25/10/2020 17:56

For those in Birmingham - Educate and Celebrate, is led by Elly Barnes who is very 'persuasive' She's certainly ruffled a few feathers and is very vocal. I'm trying not to be libelous here so hope you get my drift.

Datun · 25/10/2020 18:40

I've only read the first two analyses.

Bloody hell. It's made me feel a bit ill, to be honest.

What the fuck are these groups doing accessing children?

MumbleJunction · 25/10/2020 20:36

Do you just email the school and ask to see the sex and relationships curriculum? My DC are in primary.

persistentwoman · 25/10/2020 20:40

The school should have an SRE policy on their website and they have to consult with parents about the content.

One useful question to ask (if the website is of no use) is to ask them whether they have ensured that the SRE curriculum, materials and any associated groups they use are fully in line with the new DfE guidance?

Thelnebriati · 25/10/2020 21:00

Yet again I'm going to remind everyone that PSE/RSE was proposed as the answer to the epidemic of sexual assaults on girls in schools.

Maria Miller MP: Children's desire for Sex and Relationship Education is a 'cry for help'
''In the Women and Equalities Select Committee Report on Sexual Harassment in Schools we concluded that compulsory SRE would help children deal with and challenge the tide of abuse at school that young girls now see as part of their daily life. Increased abuse which could well be the online world seeping into the offline world too. ''

Well done SSA.
