Well well well. Some good news today at least. I was just reading the tweets celebrating Scottish women and girls in sport 2020.

I will give you one guess regarding the first sportsperson interviewed today kick off the week.

say that the cancellation rate was 8x higher, but do not give the actual figure. The information on which the articles are based does not come from Netflix figures, but from a third party using indirect sources.

The apparent drop in Netflix figures is in comparison to earlier this year - the period which coincided with lockdown and was unusually high.

Netflix is still on course to reach 200 million subscribers this year

I hope so too, but at the same time I think it's disgusting that it'll be only the fear of losing money that'll make them think twice about promoting a paedophile's dream.

oof - that is a shocker. The start of their interview explains how they decided to compete as a man for their whole career and 'see how far they can go', then deal with the trans stuff later - after retirement.

So this person didn't even participate in sport as a woman and they are being celebrated for Scottish women and girls in sport 2020. omg.

Back to the thread though, that is great news if Netflix has felt the consequences of their actions - I watched the trailers for the movie and it was shocking and I felt quite uncomfortable with those girls doing those moves - regardless of the subject of the movie as pp said - it is the fact that these girls were filmed doing those moves that is wrong.

sorry, bad use of 'they' (re. other thread on DIDs) - I wish I could use my word of preference but obviously that is not allowed. I will work on finding a better way of referring to that person (obviously I don't want to come across as rude either - I have no issue with that person themselves, it is the choice of the Scottish government to centre them for this purpose - I wonder which sportswoman didn't get chosen).

Also, and I hate that I even have to say this, I have no doubt that that dance routine will be stored on plenty of hard drives now for personal use. It could haunt the girls as they grow up and the reality of that 'fun film' they did as kids dawns on them 😔

Yes, by actually sexualising children. It could have been implied rather than shown. There are no excuses for those close up shots whilst children danced like strippers.

Someone compared it to being like a film raising awareness and trying to stamp out dog fighting and cruelty, by actually getting in dogs to film fighting to the death.

The aim was to raise awareness, but it did that by actively contributing to the sexualisation.

Netflix cancelled Little Britain because it offended transgender people.

But Cuties is fine.

They're children. And female children, at that.

And we all know the value that the world places on girls.
