Just had a mastectomy last week after my implant burst. BC was 8 years ago, but I'm still here.

Anyway, totally pissed off at the lopsided-ness as remaining boob is an E-cup, but obviously they won't remove it as it's healthy Hmm

Somewhat flippantly I was thinking, maybe I should now identify as in the wrong body, as my ideal body will now be chestless ? And then I can be classed as suffering from body dysmorphia and I can get the nhs to sort me out, instead of having to save up for it myself?

Or is that totally tasteless?

Babysharkdoodoodood If you really want some pointers for getting your second mastectomy I can help. I had mine done less than 3 years ago. It was a battle but I managed it in the end. Let me know Flowers

Yes please. I'm going to wait for this one to settle down, then go for it.

Thank you

I was feeling angry enough about BabyShark's plight, before I read that tweet from Toby Sinbad Walker complaining that transpeople's "long awaited top surgery had been cancelled to let more cancer mastectomies happen".

Prioritising cancer patients? How very dare they! Apparently it's very bad because "Transgender wait times are fatal".

I'm hoping that every display of sheer fact-free narcissism wakes up a few more people and eventually no one will collude with this nonsense any more.

Still really pissed off that women who actually need surgery can't get it. Babyshark, I hope Talkingdeadscot's experience can help you get the treatment you need.

Sorry to hear of your muscle pains. My mother had breast reduction surgery to help her severe back pain and it really helped. I get it's a bit different for you...but I can't help see parallels that our breasts impact our skeletal frame, muscle/tendon network, nerves, etc. -a whole body approach is what you need from your doctor. Thinking of you.

Apologies if I'm repeating anything that's already been said - I had a unilateral mastectomy and I'm glad I kept the other breast because I do still get some pleasure from it. Sexually speaking. Seemed a shame to lose it if I didn't have to. That said, if you feel uncomfortable lop-sided - and I can sympathise with that too - then I'd understand you wanting to have it removed.

@TeaAndStrumpets

Enraged on your behalf, babyshark Unfortunately, you have made the mistake of being born female.

BTW Earlier today I caught part of a discussion about average length of time for endometriosis to be diagnosed, and just wanted to scream.

I first went to the GP about my heavy painful periods at age 12, it’s only now 26 years later that I’m being treated and diagnosed.

OP I hope you get the reconstruction you want x
