Aplogies if this has been done, I assumed it had and was looking for it but I couldn't find a thread relating to this article - if anyone could direct me to it I'd be greatful

I'm confused by the barb about feminism and transphobia at the beginning. And the constant use of the word gender - Eliane Glaser is a very intelligent woman, what's going on?

he problem with feminism is that it’s just too familiar. The attention of a jaded public and neophiliac media may have been aroused by #MeToo, with its connotations of youth, sex and celebrity, but for the most part it has drifted recently towards other forms of prejudice, such as transphobia

i didnt interpret that as a barb at all- i thought she was saying something like; 'feminism is unpopular because its old news and media are bored of hearing that women as oppressed and have moved on to more exciting stuff like transpeople are the most oppressed instead'

i'd broadly agree with that...

It didn't read like a barb against feminism to me at all.

I suspect Guardian in house style would be why she'd use gender instead of sex.

I think you're actually right.... I've reread that differently now.

I'm losing my mind.

Thank you for replying
