Thanks for sharing. Glad this case is getting media attention. What they did to KB is just shocking, no child should be subjected to that.

PaleBlueMoonlight · 04/10/2020 07:42

Yes, thank you

imhereforthesanity · 04/10/2020 07:44

Thanks for sharing.

Malahaha · 04/10/2020 07:53

This is horrific. I hope a couple of mothers of "transboys" I know who are all fire and flame for this treatment read this, and stop to consider.
I know it's tough but this really should not be done at all to young girls.

ArabellaScott · 04/10/2020 08:23

Flowers Keira.

BovaryX · 04/10/2020 08:36

Thank you for posting this. Keira's case will hopefully make people aware of the serious problems with medical intervention. She is brave and principled. I wish her every success.

SophocIestheFox · 04/10/2020 08:38

Good luck, Keira Flowers

We are all behind you.

Sarahandduck18 · 04/10/2020 08:40

I don’t know how there’s not more outrage at women who don’t conform to stereotypes being coerced into sterilisation.

highame · 04/10/2020 08:52

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is the case where Keira is a witness. Her own case is on hold until the Judicial Review is completed.

Important non the less.

Winesalot · 04/10/2020 09:44

Good luck Keira. And to Mrs A.

Winesalot · 04/10/2020 09:46

highame

Kiera had two cases I think. This was the original one she pursued if irc.

2fallsagain · 04/10/2020 09:48

Highname this is Kiera's case as well but she has co-claimants on this. The other case is solely hers based around the MOU on conversion therapy and that is on hold.

LadySeaThing · 04/10/2020 09:50

Every time I read about Keira’s case I just can’t believe this has happened - to her and so many others - it’s completely appalling how some doctors and centres ditched any sense of precaution and any understanding of the concept of what children’s consent means, for the sake of a hugely debatable and untested trend. If she’s reading this Keira I’m so sorry, and you are a star - thank you and wishing you every success.

TheRealMcKenna · 04/10/2020 09:52

I have a relative on the waiting list for the Tavistock. They decided to transition at exactly the same age just over a year ago.

Unfortunately, in the interim they were referred (don’t know who by) to a ‘support’ group run by....... well, we all know who. Sadly, the indoctrination is now complete.

A number of months ago another family member expressed a less than 100% positive and supportive view about the use of puberty blockers in pre-teens and it ended in huge conflict.

I can state with more or less absolutely certainty that reading this article will make no difference to their views whatsoever. They have bought into the ideology totally and seem utterly unable to take even a tiny step back from their position. They see puberty blockers as 100% reversible and totally necessary in preventing an unwanted puberty in children who ‘know’ that they should be in a body of the opposite gender.

Gncq · 04/10/2020 10:04

Detransitioners are the most important in raising awareness of this unfolding scandal, and the dangers of gender ideology.

The most well-known detransitioners I can think of are all women (of the female sex Hmm). I hope the court cases are a success.

That must be really difficult for you and your family. I guess it must be similar to someone getting involved with a cult. There is an interview with Keira Bell in which she describes her mindset during this. I wonder if reading it might give any pause for thought?

highame · 04/10/2020 10:43

Thanks 2falls. So many cases, very positive. To Kiera Flowers

TheRealMcKenna · 04/10/2020 11:07

BovaryX The KB case has certainly raised awareness of the issue with other family members who, despite their own doubts about the rise in the number of teenage girls identifying as trans, had started to buy into the ides that were being forced on them. I think they, like a lot of people, had an instinctive trust of an NHS clinic and in the idea that they would fully investigate a child’s feeling of dysphasia before beginning a medical pathway towards transition. Evidence is emerging constantly that this is not the case.

As far as this particular family member is concerned, there is a hell of a lot more going on than just this one particular issue in the household, and extended family relationships have been pushed to breaking point.

AuroraBor · 04/10/2020 12:03

@TheRealMcKenna I think these people should be reminded of all the other historic health scandals in UK. Like the vaginal mesh, for example.
Interestingly, I just googled for NHS health scandals and came across a Guardian article that contained this quote

A common theme was the systemic failure to collect data on patient outcomes. The inquiry could not establish rates of mesh complications or how many women had taken sodium valproate while pregnant.
amp.theguardian.com/society/2020/jul/08/denial-of-womens-concerns-contributed-to-medical-scandals-says-inquiry
Considering what little support there is for detransitioners, I guess this strategic failure is still going on.

BovaryX · 04/10/2020 12:15

That all sounds very stressful and difficult. I hope these clinicians and 'charities' who are encouraging vulnerable children to embark on a medical pathway and use warnings about suicide to propel relatives along in the slipstream are held accountable for their appalling actions. It is scandalous as many PP have said.

PrawnofthePatriarchy · 04/10/2020 12:31

I always read the comments under any Times article connected to gender ideology and find it encouraging that the overwhelming majority of comments are from people horrified by the issues rising from the ideology - whether it's sports, puberty blockers, prisons, etc. I only spotted one comment that didn't support Keira Bell.

TRAs always claim it's only extreme radfems who oppose gender ideology but those expressing their horror at the excesses of this ideology in the Times are just mainstream people. Many of them are men.

borntobequiet · 04/10/2020 13:46

A ten year old and others 13 or under...

PrawnofthePatriarchy

Let us guess.... someone who was disgusted in Manchester?

PrawnofthePatriarchy · 04/10/2020 21:26

I can't be sure, Winesalot, but that username rings a bell. I use a different username on the Times site.

Siablue · 04/10/2020 21:28

I hope everything goes well for Keira next week.

There are some very unkind comments on Twitter about the lawyer Keira is using (apparently Christian and a conservative) and then the lady who wrote the TERF wars article saying that the trans community have been making similar criticisms I the Sunday Times should know that but they are wrong to make criticisms. I honestly don’t understand. Can anyone explain this. If they were making similar criticisms why do they not want Keira to?
