"But trans ideology is still embedded in the police and in education."

"... So, the government is right not to reform the GRA. But, having allowed the consultation period to drift on for such a long time, and having allowed transgender advocacy groups like Stonewall and Mermaids to become so influential within the police, schools and the health service, we have reached a point where gender self-identification has now become accepted – irrespective of the law. "
...
"But unfortunately, if the categories of male and female are to be meaningful, and if women want to maintain the right to female-only spaces, we now need to go much further than simply keeping the law as it is. It’s time to shed some light on the influence that groups like Stonewall and Mermaids have on all aspects of public life today. Political organisations should not be able to capture publicly funded institutions like schools, universities and the police and, in turn, these institutions should not be reliant on power-hungry charities for a cheap dose of virtue."

Fully agree. However I think many of the coming court cases will deal with this. The government in many ways have tactfully managed to leave all the doors open for whatever may come out in the next year or two, and the changes likely to result.

It’s appalling that institutional capture got as far as it did, but there have been definite and increasing signs of the wheels falling off lately.
You have only to look at the ratios on Twatter, where previously it was all obedient virtue signalling.
Liz Truss’s announcement comes at a time when even the BBC seems to have realised it was backing the wrong horse - see the thread on here about their belatedly more balanced reporting of trans issues, and new found mention of women’s rights. I think things only got so far out of control because it was under the radar - so well done to all the posters on here for shining a light on the threat to women and raising public awareness. Now we need to push back hard to retrieve all the organisations who sold us out to this ideology.
