Did anyone listen to her interview on Tikes radio today? Her comments on the #MeToo movement and domestic violence were just TRUTH to me. I could have wept. I feel as if saying what is plain about the reality for women is becoming more and more taboo. Glenda was asked what can be done and she said "keep banging on" and so I will.

What did she say?

SebastianTheCrab · 07/09/2020 07:01

I didn't hear it but she used to be my MP and not only was she completely useless she was rude and vindictive.

She once walked out during a conversation I'd booked with her because she disagreed with me. Had I not been so young at the time (literally just out of college) and known better I would have complained to the parliamentary standards committee.

Can't go

SebastianTheCrab · 07/09/2020 07:01

*Cant go into why she was vindictive as too outing

WinWinnieTheWay · 07/09/2020 07:20

@SebastianTheCrab oh no. I'm sorry to hear that.

She said that she was baffled as to why everyone was pretending to be shocked that women were being exploited and abused in Hollywood when women are exploited and abused in every corner of society. Regarding domestic violence she was asked about her own experience and whether it was better now. She replied "are you kidding me? Have you seen the statistics for dv during this pandemic?".

I loved her no nonsense approach.

I heart Glenda - and she helped a homeless friend of mine get a council flat in Camden. She also eschews all social media!

stumbledin · 07/09/2020 14:40

I suspect she is all of the things posted above. ie both competent on issues she thinks important and high handed about others.

In the Sunday Times she was interviewed and said how much she admired Theresa May because of how she was treated. ie that both the media and MPs (on both sides) treated her in a way they would never have done to a man.

And admired her for remaining an MP and continuing to do a job.

BrollyKnickers · 07/09/2020 14:43

She also eschews all social media!

Blimey! She gets my admiration for that alone.

fatblackcatspaw · 07/09/2020 15:51

yup Glenda can say No to the crack cocaine of the digital world!

Gwynfluff · 08/09/2020 09:23

You know what, never voted Tory, but thought Theresa May was ok in terms of functionality (as opposed to ideology). She knew Brexit would be hard and she new we needed to leave with some sort of deal. Look at the current crop, they are baffling the EU!
