It's way overdue.
(As a side note I saw something about women who are miscarrying being given a separate space on maternity wards. It was a petition on the feminism activist board. This makes far more sense to me than say using a separate space for commissioning parents of surrogate born children (fewer in number and no medical need), but many of you will know I have a bee in my bonnet about surrogacy! For me it highlights how we are still fighting for women's rights or simply comfort, dignity and due consideration.)
We should already know why BAME maternal mortality is high by comparison, though I'm thrilled it is finally being looked into, it's a sign that there is much work to be done for women before we move onto looking at other groups.
