Interesting investigation of digital pregnancy tests here: twitter.com/foone/status/1301707401024827392?s=21

And a response which explains how important it is to have digital tests available because less educated or english as a second language women need simple, clear and precise readings.

So my question is, why is it necessary for pregnancy tests to say "pregnant" or "not pregnant" because so many women and girls can't decipher the lines method, but NOT important to call women "women" rather than "people with cervixes".

Surely if we're supposed to care about panicked misreadings of tests, we should equally care about women missing cervical screenings?

Why does clear wording matter in one female medical situation and not the other?

Medical language on consumer products should foremost use the clearest, simplest language that is also the most accurate. It should be written so anyone with limited language comprehension can inderstand it. It should also be written so that when it's translated into other languages, the same meaning is reflected in the other language. Any other message strategy that overrides this is a threat to safeguarding health.

I found the digital readout very confusing. Why is it impossible to have the words not and pregnant on at the same time?
