Well done to all at For Women Scotland.

Graffitiqueen · 22/08/2020 21:07

Wow, that last sentence!! I'll be donating to the crowd funder.

fatblackcatspaw · 22/08/2020 21:12

I think legal cases are the only way we will make headway... I've sent them a £5 to their paypal. Fund Feminist Causes Early... goes off to plan major gold heist

Bring on the JR. All the very best, FWS.

highame · 22/08/2020 21:52

Fingers, toes, eyes, all crossed. @fatblackcatspaw Where do we get details of how to help the funds?

PearPickingPorky · 22/08/2020 21:53

I will do some gardening on pay day for this.

fatblackcatspaw · 22/08/2020 21:54

they haven't posted a crowdfunder as yet - I presume they need to get an estimate of costs. I was involved in a judical review of a planning application that cost £27000.... but their twitter profile has link to their paypal

That last sentence is so unprofessional.

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 22/08/2020 23:26

Itching to donate as soon as they have the details up.

I know it’s not the most important thing but The last sentence of that letter is phenomenally unprofessional

fascinated · 22/08/2020 23:59

That’s legal speak for “bring it on, then“, I suppose.

fatblackcatspaw · 23/08/2020 00:11

yeah just sending it to a civil servant I know .. and asking if this would be normal in a letter

OP posts:
fascinated · 23/08/2020 00:13

They’re acknowledging that it is possible and that it is allowed but conspicuously not „looking forward to receiving your letter“ or similar ...

fascinated · 23/08/2020 00:14

The tone is very different to the gushing enthusiasm Stonewall et al are treated to in their chummy emails!

fatblackcatspaw · 23/08/2020 00:15

indeed... no rushing out of the lanyards in suffragette colours...

No - it's just weird. I would not have included it if I were writing that letter.

Angry
littlbrowndog · 23/08/2020 13:16

Look at the disrespectful and snarky last line.

No respect showed to a woman’s organisation

ArabellaScott · 23/08/2020 13:23

I read the last line as 'you'll hae had yer tea'.

IloveJKRowling · 23/08/2020 13:43

If that letter was sent to a trans advocacy organisation it would be called transphobic. (mind you the bar is so low for that virtually everything is transphobic)

fascinated · 23/08/2020 16:51

No, I think it is a bit of a “point” being made, the more I think about it. They’re digging their heels in, still. Cocky.
