www.theguardian.com/fashion/2020/aug/11/tory-sleaze-once-caused-outrage-why-arent-we-up-in-arms-now Hadley nails it yet again. Why don’t we care about this stuff anymore? We used to. Is respecting women’s autonomy seen as some sort of boring historical family values thing now we are all so much more sophisticated and sexually liberated?

@ContentiousOne

It doesn't matter if ppl know it's a crime if they also know it's an unpunished crime eg effectively not a crime at all.
Agree that enforcement is also an issue but surely it helps if a person knows a crime has actually been committed against them. The survey was not just of men or women, but of both sexes. If a woman doesn’t even know what she’s experienced is rape, then there is no chance things can get better. The survey at least shows that the younger generations ARE aware what is rape and so thus more likely to report and get attackers arrested.
