The Scottish Government also brazenly misrepresented the conclusion of the only paper they managed to find about the inclusion of males in a female-only therapeutic environment. Because obviously they didn't Google for "males" in this context but only "transgender".
That paper concluded that including males who identify as trans in the female-only therapeutic environment was harmful to these females and should therefore not happen.
The Scottish Government wrote in their literature review (which was in a shorter form included in the consultation document) that the paper showed there were no issues whatsoever with including males who identify as trans in a female-only therapeutic environment and there was therefore no justification to exclude them.
One paper alone would not normally be enough to justify such far reaching policy changes, even if that one had found male inclusion was fine. But they hadn't managed to find one at all. They just lied that they had.
