The CQC - Really???????

The Care Quality Commission have posted this caption on a set of images on their FB page.

"AFAB/AMAB - If you’re new to LGBT+ spaces online, the acronyms AFAB or AMAB may be unfamiliar. They are most frequently used as a shorthand to designate a gender assigned at birth. The terms are used by a wide range of individuals, including those who are trans, non-binary, or intersex. While AFAB or AMAB may be useful for describing different trans or non-binary experiences (like whether or not someone experiences/has experienced male privilege), they are generally not considered identities in and of themselves. Calling a transman “AFAB,” for example, erases his identity as man. Instead, use a person’s requested pronouns and self-description."

FFS. No one is assigned a gender at birth. The sex is observed.
Shouldn't the CQC be worrying about coronavirus in care homes, or the number of HCPs dying, or basically anything else bar this.

What is the job of the CQC? inspecting health and social care. Their opinion on any political issue is entirely inappropriate. Just absolutely fucking no.

Massive eyeroll at their "Virtual Pride" event on Twitter this week which, naturally, would be better named "Virtually All T". Despite apparently having an LGBT lead and god knows how many diversity champions, they tweeted out a quiz that was clearly lifted straight from some US BLM site, featuring a load of black LGBT trans people whom no one here has heard of. Apparently 5 minutes on Google to find some black British LGBT people was too much effort for their champions Hmm

Had to laugh - of their account's 168k followers, the number who bothered to vote in the quiz was....16. I make that 0.000095% Grin

The CQC checks that we use the correct colour of washing up bottles (seriously, they're different for kitchen and bathroom). Yet the scandals relating to care for people with learning disability and/or autism in private hospitals/care homes such as Winterbourne went on whilst they were under inspection by the CQC, despite whistleblowing staff having contacted them about their concerns.
