I know this article was written in the U.S for the Guardian. I wasn't going to post about it, but one sentence really got to me. I believe it's important to name a problem. To accurately describe something, a situation. I don't like it when things are dressed up as something they aren't (which is why I dislike use of American corporate language such as describing mass redundancies as 'personal development growth opportunities' and other such nonsense).
In almost every area of life, people are undermined and exploited, then made to feel that their inability to thrive is somehow their fault. It’s not unreasonable for someone living under such conditions to decide they simply can’t provide for a new life
