Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Can you recommend a sex ed book for children which doesn't contain gender woo stuff?

The title is pretty self explanatory, but I'm looking for a book for my two kids that discusses puberty, sex and bodies. But it needs to be age appropriate for a 6 and 8 year old, and doesn't do the whole "inner gender", "born in the wrong body" thing.

Are there any you can recommend?

We've got this (Let's talk by Robie Harris). It's inclusive in the sense that it talks about different families (adopted, 2 mums etc) but I definitely don't remember anything about people being born in the wrong body. I bought it a few years ago. Ot was good, v down to earth.

Ps we read it when my son was about 7 or 8. My daughter listened in (age 3 or 4) but it was a bit above her head. Would be ideal for your kids' age group imo.

That sounds good, if I can find a book that shows different families/races/disability that would be amazing.

Yes that book's the one we have. It's fantastic and there are two others in the series aimed at older children. I believe there have been some changes to incorporate transgenderism into the newest editions of the books (not sure if this is just the books aimed at older kids or all three) I haven't seen that for myself, I just saw a sticker on a book 'new updated sections on transgender' or similar.
I made sure I bought older editions of the books second-hand.
Loads of stuff in the books about reproduction, sex, love, 'not ok touches', adoption and in the older age range STIs, masturbation and homosexuality. All races and ages depicted in cartoon form. They're great books, really can't recommend enough. Just get the older editions to be on the safe side!

This is a bit more of an educational tool but could be really useful for wider context of sex and relationships etc

I was hoping when you wrote "children" in your title, you meant minors, not actual children. Those little kids aren't old enough to know sex exists outside of "babies come from a mommy and a daddy."

We liked 'It's not the stork'. Been awhile since I read it so can't testify as to level of race and disability representation.

It’s an old book, but ‘Where Did I Come From?’ is great, I read it when I was a kid , and I bought it for my kids too.
