A couple of snippets.
Women are constantly being asked to do our normal jobs and then find time to take on “women’s work” as well. The OECD found that on a typical day, women do 262 minutes of unpaid work – cooking, cleaning and caring for others – almost twice as much as men in the same position.
Women are normally expected to carry the brunt of the emotional labour too, remembering birthdays, allergies and dentist appointments. It is not respected as real work."
Emotional labour. Not sure it's the phrase I'd have used, but so good that it's being highlighted.
"By giving the Women and Equalities job to a minister with another role we are saying the same thing: implying it’s not actually a full-time position. That it’s not as pressing or urgent as other areas – that a woman should easily be able to find time to handle the additional workload. But my party needs to wake up and realise that this is a substantial role that can have meaningful and lasting impact."
About time.
