NSPCC - alternative charities?

I have given a monthly donation to the NSPCC since I started work 30 years ago, but in light of their recent policies I can no longer support them. Are there any other UK based children’s charities that my money would be better used by?

Personally, I think Women's Aid is a good choice because if you rescue women, you will probably be rescuing their children too.

I really, really hope nobody is going to come along and tell me that they include men now or I will have a breakdown.

The Children's Society supports young victims of CSE, young carers and runaways.

Women’s aid considers men who identify as women to be women.

(As far as I’m aware! But hopefully someone can come along and correct me if I happen to be wrong.)

Women's Aid are now mixed sex, some shelters are no longer open to women with children at all.

Rape Crisis usually have single sex sessions.

If you sell on Ebay you can set up a charity donation, and Nia and CWJ are two of the womens charities you can donate to.

Nspcc support the mermaids charity.

JK Rowling and Baroness Nicholson's charity Lumos is for children I think (and it would be quite a nice signal of support for their stance)

Which I'm only assuming is the op objection to their politics.

I give a monthly donation to my local children's hospice.

Used to do NSPCC but stopped after they kept hounding me to increase my donation (I was at uni at the time and had very little spare cash). They were very aggressive with their tactics and put me off them ever since.

The Victoria Climbie Foundation quietly carries on with protecting children after the NSPCC failed to protect Victoria and falsified records to cover up their inaction.

I stopped supporting the NSPCC years ago as they are rotten to the core and only interested in filling their coffers through campaigns that lack any credible evidence base.

That they should support Mermaids is hardly a surprise and another reason to support charities who understand the meaning of safeguarding.

The NSPCC thought everyone was being homophobic and nasty for complaining about one of their employees wanking in fetish gear at work and posting the pictures online. Wasn't he something to do with safeguarding as well? Eventually sacked but no apology.

Lumos* sorry, it is an international charity so maybe you are looking for something closer to home.

Slight tangent but just to confirm that WAFE - Women's aid federation England - are a bit wooly on defining what a woman is, but your local women's aid charity may be firmly GC.

I would suggest Lumos or a local charity.
