Girls shorts

Hi all, hoping you wise ones can help me. Do any of you know where I can buy shorts for my 12 year old daughter that are mid-thigh length? I've been looking for ones but every year it gets harder and harder to find suitable ones. It seems to me that as she gets older, the clothes in her size get skimpier.

I bought some for her recently, but when she tried them on, they barely covered her bum.
I've looked in the boys section of shops, but while the length is fine, she would like ones that are more "girly" in pattern and colours.

I have the same problem.

I got some from Lands End last year for my dd.

When she was younger I got some amazing ones from Costco - I think the label is Tractor. I managed to find a bigger pair on eBay when she finally outgrew the ones she had (she was always tiny and slow growing - alas no more!). They had amazing stretch, and she loved them - said they were very comfy. The Lands end ones are ok, but she doesn’t love them the same.

She is just beginning to be annoyed by lack of pockets - I think I will need to brush up in my sewing skills!

My dd has chino style from Gap and flowery paper bag ones from H&M. I've never been unable to find them.

I’ll second (fourth?) Land’s End and Gap, and add another American brand, Carter’s/OshKosh: cartersoshkosh.co.uk

My daughters really like their soft fabrics and colorful styles. Nb, their sizes fit smaller than Land’s End in our experience.

Having had another look at mountain warehouse, they are listed under kids rather than girls but do go up to age 13. They always have navy but the other colours seem to change every year. Last year was pink and turquoise. This year yellow and purple

Thanks for the reminder! Shorts ordered as per dd age 12's request for mid thigh length ones. Ordered from ASOS and h and m mix of kids and women's sizes to try.
