The Guardian on Pride - rewriting history

Today's long read from the Guardian is about the Stonewall riots and the subsequent history of Pride:

www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/25/party-and-protest-lgbtq-radical-history-gay-liberation-stonewall-pride

Remarkable for the way it elides gay rights and trans rights, and uses the term LGBTQ+ even when talking about the 70s and 80s when it wasn't in use. Massively overstates the role of trans activists in early gay rights campaigning. Completely ignores the way in which Pride has become a place for certain men to parade their fetishes. Misrepresents the concerns of lesbians about the anti-lesbian misogyny of trans activism:

'In 2018, anti-trans protesters campaigning under the slogan “Get The L Out” disrupted London’s parade, claiming that rights for trans people amounted to “anti-lesbianism” – a claim that would have undoubtedly sounded sadly familiar to participants like Rivera in the first marches almost 50 years ago.'

The Guardian no longer seems to care about fact-checking or printing the truth.
