It might work to MN's advantage. They say all publicity is good publicity.

I'm not religious, but you really have done a bit of a JC for the rest of womanhood. You knew exactly how the patriarchy would make you pay for talking about your experiences of male violence, but you knew you had to do it for our sake.

I see it as more of a Lily Potter move, stepping in the way of harm, taking the hit but by doing so messing up the evil spell being cast at us...I just hope she knows how appreciated she is for it.

I'm also hoping it will work out like it did for Harry when most of the school turned against him, but came to see he was right all along.

Of course they target MN. It's primarily used by females, and of course we must be spreading 'hate' and 'recruiting' because it would make their brains explode to think that a group of intelligent women are capable of having discussions and opinions without men, or shock horror, that we dare to stand up to them.

IW is against self ID as it makes everything IW went through to transition pointless.

I'm on a GC group on FB and there's been an influx of new women recently who didn't know much about this issue until the JK Rowling furore, but are now becoming aware and are incensed about it.

I saw a fantastic Twitter thread yesterday on Jane Clare Jones’ feed where she commented on how many new users she’s picked up since JKR’s blog/essay. There followed a series of tweets from people new to the debate saying they agreed with JKR, were shocked with what was going on and/or were heartened to find rational voices on Twitter. I wish I’d bookmarked it so I could post here. JKR has opened this up to the wider public.
