AIBU to think you should write to the Body Shop's CEO about their transphobia?

Apparently it makes sense to treat men's skin with targeted grooming products, because "men" have special skin. Also Apparently "Men" have beards which we all know is crazy because TW and non binary people have beards and transmen don't.

It makes sense to treat men's skin with targeted male grooming products. The Body Shop® has developed an extensive range for Men’s skincare specifically designed to help you cleanse, shave and protect. Ingredients include Maca Root, a rich source of skin minerals and nutrients, and community trade Brazil Nut oil

^Look at this, look at it. The bastards.

Even this here which claims beard oil is for men

Anyway if you want to write them about their terrible transphobia or their fucking hypocrisy you can write their CEO here

Transmen are men, so all the people with facial hair are men

Tell that to Alex Drummond or Danielle Muscato.

@Ploppymoodypants She didn't. It was L'Oreal. Even worse.

Someone should do it. Email them and call them out on implying men and women are biologically different in any way. Ask them if they realize how alienating this kind of language is to the many non-binary customers who use their beard oils etc. Ask them what Jonathan van Ness would make of this, and how they can justify not making a change now they've been made aware of the issue - in this, Pride month, of all months!

Wait for the total lack of response, as they contemplate the cost of repackaging all the men's branded items and decide not to bother

The Body Shop... for which body?

ZaZathecat · 15/06/2020 19:47

The pp who thought Body Shop had gone bust may have seen the title of a recent thread on here, something like "The Body Shop Has Fallen". I took it to mean that until I opened it and saw it was about the trans issues.

Well any body!

A lot of the stuff is pretty much the same for men and women (with a few exceptions) so why is it not unisex?

Is it because one set has to emphasise soft feminine flowing touchable locks and the other how rugged they are. DH got a shampoo to test called something POWER which we found v funny.

A more sensible split would be long hair short hair coloured hair etc but that wouldn't happen would it.
