*A key differentiation is between the words "sex" and "gender". Our sex, which is physical - male or female - is distinct from our gender, which is psychological and social.

"Women are oppressed on the basis of their biological sex, not their gender identity. There has to be a place for the female sex as a distinct group," said Stephanie Davies-Arai, who founded the Transgender Trend website - a place for parents to discuss trans issues."*

Brilliant! I had to double check what I was reading the what the bbc have stated above her quote!

The rest is gender woo feelings bollocks, and a shame no one pointed out that a male doesn't get to have an opinion on this, but hey ho.

Do you think they've been hacked?

NeurotrashWarrior · 10/06/2020 06:23

Possibly?! A lot of people will be thinking, huh, um, isn't that logical?

The Times leading article has the same as well. That's more to be expected than the BBC, but still.

Rowling was criticised in December last year for defending a woman who lost her job after saying children cannot change their biological sex.

I have never seen the BBC report this issue in such a clear manner.

The article is here:

I think they added that in because I don't remember reading that in their original coverage of the issue.

InAGarden · 10/06/2020 10:12

I just read it again, and they seem to have had added that in.

'"It feels like this magical world she created for me, where anyone can be themselves, wasn't real."'

This is someone talking about the Harry Potter books.

If you, as an adult, find yourself disappointed because a series about a magical wizarding school isn't real, then I gently suggest you need help, and not from a children's author.
