I’ll try again. See if this survives. The Song of Praise was themed on Inclusion.
The first segment was from Strawberry Fields near John Lennon’s childhood home, now a reopened Salvation Army centre. Filmed before Coronavirus and children visiting the cafe and the gardens seems like a vision of a different world!
Then there was a very brief intro about disability. Featuring a deaf woman with a calling to preach (Methodist). Her church in Oxford is accessible to people with disabilities.
The third segment, (starting at 16 minutes) was gender identity. First a Professor (of ancient medicine) Helen King, adviser to the CoE (member of the general synod) who says government figures say
There are five hundred thousand people “living in a different gender to that they were assigned at birth”. She repeats that these are government figures.
A difficult issue for some people the bible will be fundamental. Others will read the bible in a different way.
Then Alex who aged 15 was asked to leave a church youth group after being seen holding hands with a girl. Now they have returned to the (United Reform) church, transitioned and married (a woman). Always felt different. Now a Reverend.
Then songs from 24 minutes “you’ll never walk alone” like I’ve never hear it before, and back to Liverpool, people with learning difficulties getting into employment. Finished at 34 minutes.
Hopefully better written than my old op.
