www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00tw1m1 Available on iplayer until the end of May. I saw a bit of it, will catch up with the whole thing. Some interesting themes that are still extremely relevant. They fought for equal pay (and got it), for instance. At the end of the war, of course, their services were dispensed with and few managed to make a living out of their flying skills.

Not quite. Amy was a proper working class Sheffield girl who quickly found out that a degree still wasn't enough to get you out of the typing pool. The german boyfriend didn't help either.
